Nel primo centenario del volo del dirigibile Italia

Ci sono due cose che mi piace sottolineare in quest'occasione. Lasciamo che la prima sia, ovviamente, il genio, la fantasia (tecnica) e l'intraprendenza di Almerico da Schio. Giusto un secolo fa ha realizzato il suo dirigibile, che s(alzò in volo primo in Italia, dopo un ventennio di intensi studi coinvolgendo e confrontandosi con gli industriali, i tecnici e i militari più lungimiranti nel campo dei motori, della chimica e della meccanica. Questa bella pubblicazione ci racconta compiutamente il viaggio di Almerico da Schio in mezzo a svariate avventure (e disavventure) nei vari ambiti citati. Dai racconti di mio padre Almerico, omonimo del mio illustre bisnonno, emerge la figura di un personaggio eclettico e anche di un gran distratto (pare che a volte andasse in giro con due cappelli! Oppure con una scarpa marrone ed una nera) ma soprattutto di uno studioso che ha saputo coinvolgere e motivare quelli che oggi si chiamerebbero i partner tecnici che lo hanno sostenuto. Non solo, ma decidendo di non brevettare quelli che sarebbero divenuti i timoni di profondità, ha permesso che altri, e furono molti, utilizzassero le sue innovazioni. Ma non voglio qui svelare troppo il contenuto del libro. Immagino solo felicità di Almerico da Schio se avesse potuto vedere, il 20 luglio 1969, Neil Armstrong primo uomo a sbarcare sulla luna! Erano passati solo 64 anni dal volo del "balon"! 64 anni in cui la tecnica ha viaggiato alla velocità della luce. E cento anni dopo il dirigibile "Italia" ecco che le esplorazioni spaziali ci permettono di conoscere le pianure di Marte, e poi la luna di Saturno. Non l'avrebbe nemmeno immaginato - io credo- quando passava giorni e notti a fare calcoli su calcoli.
Il secondo punto che vorrei enfatizzare riguarda la terra in cui è vissuto Almerico da Schio e dalla quale veniva. Il Veneto e Schio, terra di uomini intraprendenti, terra dove durante la rivoluzione industriale del 1870 si sono visti i primi insediamenti che non erano solo espressione di impresa industriale, ma anche di visione sociale. Pensiamo alla lungimiranza dei Rossi o dei Marzotto, per citare i più conosciuti, che hanno capito per primi dove ci avrebbe portato la civiltà industriale; e hanno creato, per l'epoca, straordinarie strutture sociali come abitazioni, trasporti e infrastrutture: in altri termini argomenti assolutamente attuali!
Il Veneto che oltre al primo volo nei suoi cieli, ha visto anche la prima automobile regolarmente registrata correre sulle sue strade, e dove si è visto il primo motore a scoppio - il Bemardi - muovere i suoi primi..... giri. Il Veneto oltre a tutto ciò, ha generato quel fenomeno di intraprendenza personale così spiccato, da divenire oggetto di studi sociologici. Ora non mi rimane che auspicare che di tutto ciò ci si ricordi, che se ne ricordino i nostri figli nipoti e pronipoti che proseguano nel ricordare quanto è avvenuto nelle nostre terre, e ne traggano i dovuti insegnamenti in modo da continuare sulla stessa strada. E qui desidero citare Giorgio Evangelisti, autore del libro, che di questi ricordi è fedele, entusiasta e competente divulgatore, che ha accettato, con la sua riconosciuta professionalità già espressa in decine di pubblicazioni aeronautiche, di descrivere l'avventura del Conte Almerico da Schio: Un ringraziamento veramente sentito alla giunta Comunale di Schio con in testa il Sindaco Luigi Dalla Via, e l' assessore Flavio Bonato, che hanno fatto sì che questo primo centenario venisse celebrato nel migliore dei modi e - sono sicuro - il cui ricordo rimarrà per molto tempo. Uno speciale, caloroso ringraziamento a Nino Balestra e al Museo Bomfanti di Bassano per l'aiuto offerto alla mostra. La loro opera va ricordata non solo per la promozione e il ricordo delle automobili storiche, ma ancor più - come ho sottolineato sopra - per la valorizzazione di quanto la gente veneta ha fatto per rendere grande la nostra regione. Vorrei, infine, ringraziare in maniera particolare il gruppo di lavoro "Centenario Dirigibile ltalia" del Comune di Schio per il suo appassionato e puntuale contributo a queste celebrazioni su Almerico da Schio.

In the first centenarian of the flight of the Italy airship
From the presentation of the book: There are two things that it appeals to to me to emphasize in this occasion. Lasciamo that before is, obviously, the genius, the fantasy (technical) and the intraprendenza of Almerico from Schio. Just a century makes has realized its airship, than s(alzò in first flight in Italy, after a ventennio of intense studies being involved and being confronted with the farther-sighted manufacturers, technicians and soldiers in the field of the motors, chemistry and the mechanics. This beautiful publication compiutamente tells the travel to us of Almerico from Schio in means to varied adventures (and disavventure) in the several one ambles to you cited. From storys of my Almerico father, omonimo of my illustrious great-grandfather, the figure of a distracted eclectic personage and also of a large one emerges (seems that to times it went in turn with two nails head! Or with a shoe brown and a black one) but above all of one studious that it has known to be involved and to motivate those that today would call the partner technical who has supported it. Not only, but deciding not to patent those that would have become the depth rudders, it has allowed that others, and were many, used its innovations. But I do not want to reveal too much the content of the book here. I imagine alone happiness of Almerico from Schio if it had been able to see, the 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong first man to disembark on the moon! They were passes single 64 years to you from the flight of "balon"! 64 years in which the technique it has travelled to the speed of the light. And one hundred years after the airship "Italy" that the explorations space them allow here us to know Mars plains, and then the moon of Saturno. A Veneto beyond to all that, has generated that phenomenon of detached personal intraprendenza therefore, to become object of sociological studies. Hour me does not remain that to foretell that of all that us memories, than if our sons remember some grandsons and greats-granddaughter who continue in remembering how much have happened in our lands, and from there they draw the due instructions so as to to continue on the same road. And here I wish to cite George Evangelisti, author of the book, than of these memories he is faithful, enthusiastic and divulgatore competent, that it has accepted, with its recognized professionality already expressed in tens of banns aeronautics, to describe the adventure of the Conte Almerico from Schio: A thanks truly felt to the Communal committee of Schio with in head Luigi Mayor From the Way, and the city council member Flavio Bonato, that they have made yes that this first centenarian came celebrated in the best one of the ways and - they are sure - whose memory will remain in order much time. One special, warm thanks to Nino Crossbow and the Museum Bomfanti di Bassano for the aid offered to the extension. Their work not only goes remembered for the promotion and the memory of the historical automobiles, but still more - as I have emphasized over - for the valorization of how much people veneta have made in order to render our region large. I would want, finally, ringraziare in particular way the Dirigible Centennial work group "ltalia" of Common of Schio for its fan and punctual contribution to these celebrations on Almerico from Schio.
