Molte opere sono state dedicate all'attività
operativa delle forze aeree italiane durante la seconda guerra mondiale
(quasi esclusivamente la Regia Aeronautica, anche se l'aviazione Nazionale
Repubblicana sta conoscendo un rinnovato interesse dei ricercatori), moltissime
quelle dedicate alla Luftwaffe, tutte con dovizia di dettagli tecnici
e ricchezza di corredo iconografico. Poco invece è stato pubblicato
prendendo in esame le relazioni lintercorse nel periodo 1940-1945 tra
Regia Aeronaut\ca prima, Aeronautica Nazinale Repubblicana poi, e la Luftwaffe.
"I rapporti tra aeronautica italiana e tedesca durante la seconda
guerra mondiale" è opera che nasce per volontà dell'Autore
non di colmare una lacuna editoriale, quanto per offrire allo studioso
e al cultore di storia dell'aviazione spunti utili a successivi i approfondimenti
su un argomento che crediamo possa ancora riservare qualche sorpresa storiografica.
Gli aspetti strettamente operativi sono stati volutamente limitati a favore
dell'analisi rigorosa dei punti di contatto tra la situazione sul campo
di battaglia e l'intessersi dei rapporti politico-militari; economici,
diplomatici, industriali italo-germanici. Filo conduttore fell'opera è

della ricerca e contestualizzandoli nella situazione operativa di teatro.

notare alcune occasioni sprecate (ad esempio i ritardi nella produzione
in Italia di apparati radar su licenza tedesca), che assumono una particolare
rilevanza nel mettere il luce croniche carenze di coordinamento e pianificazione
delle strutture militari, amministrative ed industriali: tutto ciò
con sullo sfondo l'impreparazione di un Paese entrato in guerra in maniera
affrettata.
Completa l'opera una corposa appendice documentale, dove hanno trovato
collocazione quei documenti la cui citazione parziale nell'ambito del
testo ne avrebbe causata un'ingiusta mutilazione, con la perdita di brani
e dati che ben rendono l'atmosfera del momento storico..
